Lots of folks are aware that they want help with the actually moving portion of their home relocation. But for those that want a full-service experience, we can take care of your entire move.

How It Works

1. You reach out to set up your in-person quote

This is easy, just go to our contact us page, and put in your desired time for a quote. and it’ll be put into both yours and our calendars. 

This info goes to Jon, our owner, and he will be your guide through the process. If you have questions ahead of time, check out the FAQ.

2. Your in-person quote with Jon will happen at your home. 

This is around a 20-40 minute process.

During this process you will be told exactly what to expect through the moving and packing that we will do for you.

Jon will also tell you the exact price for our company to move and pack you, with each price separated on the quote, so you know exactly what each one costs.

The packing quote does include the cost for packing boxes and materials, so there is no materials you need to get ready for us, we will bring it all. 

 

3. The packing day is typically 1 day before the moving day.

On the packing day, the packers will arrive at your home in the 1 hour arrival window that we guarantee (if they are late without notice, you will receive a $200 discount). They will arrive at your home with all necessary boxes and packing materials.

4. The packing crew will put everything into boxes

They will label the boxes on the sides as well as the top, so that when there is a stack of boxes, you can see what room each box is supposed to go to.

5. Moving Day

Typically, this is the following day after the packing is complete.

Moving Day Process

  • Crew arrives on time, or they pay you $200 if they are later than the planned 1 hour arrival window.
  • Protect your home with floor runners
  • Blanket wrap all furniture
  • Take apart and reassemble any furniture that needs it
  • Provide free mattress bags and wardrobe boxes
  • Load your items into truck carefully
  • Drive to new home
  • Put things exactly where you want them, ensuring boxes are delivered to appropriately labelled rooms
  • Do a final walkthrough at the end of the move, to ensure you are happy everything is where it should be.
  • (optional) – after you have unpacked everything, we can collect the boxes and recycle them for you.

As a moving company with a Abbotsford and Langley location, we can be a local moving choice that is close to home for various areas of the Fraser Valley, hence our name Fraser Valley Movers and Storage

We have the staff that know what they are doing and on most of our crews there is typically around 20 yrs of experience

Our Services

Local Moves 

The typical person that moves is only going 20 minutes or less from their current location. This is the majority of the jobs we do, as it is the majority of moves people make.

Despite these moves being a close distance, they have nearly as many logistics to account for as long distance moves.

For these local moves, we try to ease people’s anxieties by providing a guaranteed arrival window of 1 hour. Not much is worse than starting your moving day later than expected.

Whether it’s a house, townhouse, condo or office, we have the people, equipment and experience to make your local move a smooth experience.

Long Distance Moves

We would define a long distance move as more than 50 km from Langley or Abbotsford.

Very common destination we go to are: Vernon, Kelowna, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Victoria, Prince George, Oliver, Lake Country.

Typically, we do these types of moves 2-4 times/month, and summer time is when most people doing a move of this distance prefer for them to happen. The process for a long distance move is quite similar to a local move, and all your items will be protected in the same way. The major difference is that long distance moves typically are a 2+ day experience. If you are going to a location around 400 kms or less, we would load your items into the truck(s) on day 1 and park overnight at our secure, gated yard. Then, on day 2, we would leave early (around 6 or 7am) and drive to your destination, and unload your belongings there. 

Packing Services

If you’re moving and don’t want to spend a bunch of time tracking down boxes, or trying to reuse your neighbors boxes that have old labels all over them, consider hiring us to do the packing for you. If you’ve ever experienced a box that is falling apart, or were amazed at how much stuff is actually in your kitchen cupboards, you may want to have someone else take on that job for you. When we pack, we provide all required boxes, so all you have to do is let us in and take care of it all for you.

What if you can’t move directly to your new home? In cases like that, you may need to keep your items somewhere until it is accessible.

Piano moving

Want a company that can move all your furniture, as well as your piano? You are in luck! 

Many companies are willing to move furniture, but may not be comfortable or have experience moving pianos, especially large ones. If you have a piano that is part of your move, don’t worry, we can move that as well and you don’t need to hire a separate moving company

Whether it’s a upright or baby grand piano, we can take care of it. Moving pianos is not easy – you need to have the right equipment, manpower and experience to get it done. If you are missing any of those things, it can be a really dangerous situation. 

We want to give you confidence that your piano (and home) will be kept safe in the moving process and none of our staff will be squished in the moving of your piano.

Senior Moving

For the elderly who are looking to move and be treated with dignity and compassion, we are happy to offer packers and movers to them. In our experience, the main areas they care about are convenience and reliability. These clients want to know their movers and packers will be on time, will protect the items they care about and won’t create any extra stress for them. 

Whether it’s a move into a condo, or assisted living facility, we have done this a lot and can make sure it’s a smooth experience and the communication is clear and prompt. Why Hire Us to Move and Pack You - Not Just Move?

Do you really want to do the packing yourself? Chances are, if you are like 95% of people, you’d really rather not do the task.  It’s not just a task of putting things into boxes, it’s far more than that, which you may not fully realize until you are doing it yourself.

You don’t want to drive all over town, trying to find boxes and packing materials. 2 words: not fun. Don’t do it. We already have all the best materials and are ready to bring them right over to your house and start working.

Packing takes a long time if you do it by yourself, and don’t do it professionally every day. Our team could pack your house in 1 day. For you it will likely take 1-4 weeks of part time work. If you already have a full time job, say goodbye to your evenings and weekends because you’ll be putting things into boxes. Or you won’t be doing that and have a panic attack 3 days before the move because there’s still so much to do.

When you pack yourself, you end up with boxes all over your house well before the moving day. These boxes will get in your way and serve as a constant reminder of all the packing that still needs to happen. Take some of that mental burden off of yourself and let us do it for you. You will have 0 boxes in your home until the night before the move, at which point all the boxes will arrive and be packed by someone else. Then, the next day, they will be brought to your new home – NICE!

This reason is often forgotten about – insurance. That’s right, when you hire movers and packers, then you are covered by their insurance for the contents within the boxes. When you do the packing yourself, it is not covered by the movers insurance.

Our moving company will take away boxes after you have unpacked them. If you’d like this service from us, simply call and we will arrange a time to pick them up and recycle them. This way you don’t need to be putting cut up boxes in your recycling for the next 3 months.
