Local Moves
Often local moves mean someone is going from Surrey to Delta, or Langley, or within Surrey. Typically, it’s less than a 2 hour drive, and these jobs are almost always done in 1 day.
Naturally, there are always exceptions, so if you also include our packing services or have a huge home with lots of items that need multiple trucks, we’d likely do your project over multiple days.
Office Moves
If you are relocating your workspace and need a hand, we’d love to help! Often these jobs have really sensitive timelines. After all, you don’t want your Surrey Office to be closed for any extended amount of time.
We are happy to work with the timeline you need and brainstorm how the move can happen smoothly. That can mean we work in the evenings or over a weekend – whatever it takes to make it work well for you.
Surrey Piano Movers
Everyone’s favorite, the monstrous piano that weighs several hundred pounds. This is not something you want to try to move with your friends and a pickup truck. Instead of lifting a piano, just lift your phone and give us a call. We are very experienced with moving pianos and can handle it with care and no broken backs (yay).
However, even we have limits and will only move upright pianos and baby grands. If you have a full grand piano and want that moved, sorry but we can’t help with that.
Long distance moves
Our company regularly moves clients out of the Fraser Valley to places like the Okanagan, Interior and Vancouver Island.
The loading and unloading portion of these moves is just like a local move, but the real difference is the driving time. Due to the increased driving time, these jobs take more than 1 day to complete.
Moving From Surrey to Vancouver Island
If you are moving to Vancouver Island, we would make sure our moving truck(s) had a ferry reservation set up well in advance.
Day 1 – we would load your home in Surrey and hold your items in truck overnight at our secure yard, which is on Landmark Rd, Surrey.
Day 2 – the crew would go to the ferry for the reserved time, and get to the Island. Then, they would drive to your home and offload your items into the exact places you want them to go.
The great part about long distance moves with our company is that there are no surprises with pricing. Even if there are ferry delays due to bad weather, or lack of staff at BC Ferries that results in cancelled sailings, your price will be the quoted amount. (both of those examples are things we have dealt with several times over the years)

Great Surrey Memory
On a side note, one of my favorite memories took place in Holland Park.
It was the month of May and a band called Mumford and Sons played an outdoor concert in 2013.
The weather was absolutely perfect, sunny and clear and it was such a beautiful moment. Now, every time I drive down King George Boulevard and pass Holland Park, I’m flooded with a fantastic memory.

- No hidden fees – we give guaranteed prices for each job. No surprises, no unexpected charged – EVER. The price is the price. What you are quoted for your job is exactly what you will pay. It doesn’t matter if the move takes a really long time or happens quickly.
- No late movers – we guarantee an arrival window of 1 hour for our local Surrey movers. That means, you know your movers are going to show up on time. If they don’t (which hasn’t ever happened), you will receive $200 off your move.
You can hire us with confidence for your Surrey move, knowing the most common moving horror stories are not possible. Phew – you can breath a sigh of relief.
If you’re skeptical of how we can guarantee on time arrival, I don’t blame you , but here is our secret: we only schedule our crews for 1 job each day. That means your job is always the first and only job they do. This also has the added benefit of making sure your crew is always fresh and energetic for your move….which certainly is not the case with every Surrey moving company.
Packing Services
If you are not interested in a DIY packing experience, please get a quote from us to do your packing for you.
We offer full packs of your entire home, or partial ones if you just wanted us to pack your kitchen and garage, or any other variation.
If you do want to pack yourself, check out this link on how to pack delicate items.
Factor in a lot of time to pack yourself, and be aware that the kitchen will produce approx half of the total boxes for your home. It takes a while to pack the kitchen.
If you hire us to do your packing for you, this is typically a 1 day process and we supply all the boxes and materials needed, which are included in the quote you receive. (remember – no surprise fees)
Storage in Surrey
We offer storage lockers close by in Langley!
Whether you need short or long term storage, we are happy to provide you with secure, safe storage that is close by.
Typically, our storage clients are also our moving clients and we move their items into and out of storage for them.
With how our storage works, it is not ideal for people that need regular access to their items. However, if you want to store it and ignore it, that is what typically happens. Our clients don’t access their storage items until it’s time for our Surrey Movers to take it back to their home.
Who Should NOT Hire Fraser Valley Movers?
- People who only want the cheapest option. As you can imagine, we are not the cheapest option, nor are we trying to be. If a really small budget is your reality and low cost is the chief factor, rent a UHaul truck and do the move yourself or with some friends or family that you wrangle into helping you. Seriously, this will be the cheapest option.
- People willing to take risks with unproven companies. Again, these are usually folks that are very budget focussed, and maybe they are willing to try a company they saw on Marketplace that advertised unbelievably low rates . Often, I’ve heard stories from these people saying things like, “well, even if this company is twice as slow as others, it’ll still save me money.” If that thought has crossed your mind, you probably don’t want to hire us.
- People who don’t care if their furniture gets damaged or walls and floors get scratched/dinged. Often people who hire “non-professional” movers don’t factor in the repair costs if the house itself is damaged. They may not care about their furniture, but the present or future homeowner probably cares a lot about the new scrapes that were left behind and repairing flooring can be extremely expensive. However, if you truly don’t care about the home or the furniture, please don’t hire us.
- People that love unwanted surprises. If the thought of unexpected charges or movers that may or may not show up doesn’t bother you at all, don’t hire us.
What Happens If I Hire Fraser Valley Movers and Something is Broken?
I wish I could tell you it never happens, but that is just not reality. Despite the protection we use for flooring and furniture and the blankets we protect your items with, things can still get damaged.
