What is a local move? Basically, it’s a move within about an hour of where you currently live. Most of the time when someone lives in Langley, they move to another home in Langley, or to nearby places like Abbotsford or Langley.
These moves are almost always accomplished in a single day. However, if you add packing services, or have a BIG house or lots of items that will require multiple trucks, it may make sense for your moving services to be done over multiple days.
Local moves can include:
- Moving all the contents of a house, or condo or townhouse, to a new house, or condo, or townhouse.
- Small moves, such as a handful of items or appliances to be delivered to a new home
- Office Moves
- Piano movers Langley – if you pick up that used piano from someone and need to get it delivered to your home. If you have upright or baby grand pianos, we can move these for you.
Depending on the size of your local Langley move, it may be a few hours to a few days. The great news for you is you will know exactly what to expect of the whole process because of the in-person quote that happens before your moving day. At that quote you will be told exactly what to expect and what the exact price will be.

That’s right, this is not a typo. When you receive a quote from Fraser Valley Movers, it is an actual quote, and not an estimated price. That means that no matter what happens on your moving day, your price will be exactly what you were told ahead of time.
This quote is emailed to you in writing at the end of the in-person walk-through of your home, and if you have any questions about it, we can discuss them right away.
You don’t need to wait for hours or days to hopefully get an emailed estimate, which is something that happens a lot with moving companies. We want you to know all the info of your move ahead of time, and not be blindsided by price at the end of it.
How can we offer a guaranteed price?
Because of the in-person quoting process. Actually seeing all the items to move allows for us to create an accurate price. If you just took some info over the phone, it’s impossible to have it be precise (trust me, I tried and it was a disaster)!
Guaranteed Arrival Time
Our clients can expect our movers to show up within a pre-planned 1 hour arrival window.
Typically, our starting time is between 8-9am, and our clients love knowing their movers will be at their home on time.
In fact, we feel so confident in this guarantee, that we will reduce your moving bill by $200 if our crew is later than that arrival window.
Benefits of Our Method
The crew for your move is fresh. They aren’t already tired from doing another job. That means they have more energy, are more alert and aware of their surroundings, and can perform your move at a higher level.
That is one of the main reasons we made the change to just 1 job per day. In the past we would consistently have our moving crews working past midnight. It would happen at least 1-2 times/month, and it was terrible.
Long Distance Moves
If you are looking to move away from Langley to a destination within BC but out of the Fraser Valley, we’ve got you covered!
Process
Usually these moves are a 2 day process, although it can be 3 days if it’s a really far destination or if several trucks are involved.
- Day 1 - load the truck(s) with items from your Langley home and/or storage locker. We park the truck(s) at our yard overnight. Don’t worry, the yard is fully gated and secure and we’ve done this literally hundreds of times without ever having an incident. Your items are safe.
- Day 2 - the truck(s) are driven to your destination and unloaded into your new home. Our driver will be in communication with you to give updated ETA.
- Day 3 (if needed) - items will be unloaded on the morning of day 3 to finish the unloading process
This long distance moving process is far different than many companies. Typically, they will not give a firm price, and will only tell you the bill once your items have been loaded on their truck and weighed. They may offer a delivery window that is 4-10 days from when your items were loaded.

Fun fact – One time we packed a client who filled 60 boxes with just China dishes! Their kitchen is pictured here.
For perspective, most kitchen end up being 50 boxes or less.

- People that don’t need or want access to their items until it’s time to move them out of storage. If you want to come and grab a few items from time to time, you’d be better arranging for your own storage.
- People renovating their home and needing to clear out space
- Folks who have just bought a new home but the possession dates don’t line up, so they need short term storage until they can move into their new home

I have owned and operated moving companies since 2013 It’s always been full time and it’s the only work I’ve done for over 12 years.
In those years, I’ve learned a LOT and seen most situations a person can within the moving industry.
However, there is always something new that comes up, and those really excite me. I’m happy to work with you to solve the problems you need to, such as tight deadlines or tricky access or narrow stairwells (think of new Langley townhouses). I have enough experience to know what I’m doing but not too much to be jaded.
