What is a local move? Basically, it’s a move within about an hour of where you currently live. Most of the time when someone lives in Abbotsford, they move to another home in Abbotsford, or to nearby places like Chilliwack, Mission or Langley.

How can we offer a guaranteed price? Because of the in-person quoting process. Actually seeing all the items to move allows for us to create an accurate price. If you just took some info over the phone, it’s impossible to have it be precise (trust me, I tried for the first few years of owning a moving company and it was a disaster)!
our clients can expect our movers to show up within a pre-planned 1 hour arrival window. Typically, our starting time is between 8-9am, and our clients love knowing their movers will be at their home on time.
We only book 1 job per day for each crew.
That means when you hire our company, you are the first and only client that crew will move on your moving day. This is great news.
You crew will be fresh (not tired) and they will be on time. We want you to feel really confident in our on-time arrival promise, so we’ll pay you $200 if our crew is later than the 1 hour arrival window (pretty awesome for you. However, if you are thinking you found a way to make some money, I will disappoint you….we won’t be late.

Usually these moves are a 2 day process, although it can be 3 days if it’s a really far destination or if several trucks are involved.

Be aware that the packing quote includes both labor and materials, which is great, because it means you don’t need to drive all up and down South Fraser Way, trying to see which liquor store has boxes.
Ps. Everything Wine, off of McCallum Rd always has a pile of empty boxes by their front door.
Liquor boxes are great for it you pack yourself, but here’s a word of caution: try not to use more than 20 of them. Because they are so small, if you use a lot of those boxes, it will result in a more inefficient moving process.

We have spent days packing for our clients because of the volume of items they have. I remember 1 situation where we filled a 20 foot sea can with solely boxes so the home could be staged.
We have local storage right here in Abbotsford for our clients.
If you’d like to arrange your own storage facility, we can move it there for you, or you can let us arrange our storage and do everything for you.
The benefit of that is there is less logistics for you.
Our storage is not suited for every situation.
If you are needing regular acces to your things in storage, then the best solution for you is to arrange for your own storage and we will move it there for you.
When using our storage, access is very limited and our clients typically never touch their items until we move them back out of storage for them.

Since 2013 I have owned and operated my own moving companies. I’ve learned a lot of things the hard way and feel pretty good about the best approach to take in different situations.
We are a boutique moving company and aren’t doing a HUGE volume of work every month. We have limited our size to 2 trucks and crews and that is on purpose. Having a company of that size means I can control the quality to a really high degree and we can give consistently superb service and experiences to our Abbotsford moving clients.

There are a couple practical ways we reduce the amount of waste:
Recycling things whenever possible. Often we have clients that don’t have room for a couch or china cabinet, or other furniture. Maybe they are downsizing or wanting new items, whatever the reason, they ask us to take these things away for them. Rather than immediately going to the dump, we try to connect with local charities or thrift stores and see if they can sell them. Ideally they can and we can avoid throwing things into the landfill. The 3 main places we try to donate are:
We use elastic bands for securing moving blankets to furniture. Almost every moving company in Canada uses tape to hold the blankets onto the furniture it’s protecting, but doing that is wasteful. The tape can only be used once and then needs to be thrown away and it eventually tears the blanket, so that it also needs to be discarded. By using elastics, we are able to dramatically reduce the waste. A typical move will use anywhere from 3-15 rolls of tape, so this really adds up over weeks, months and years!
