At times we run into clients who are just moving into the area and don’t have a lot of contacts of various professionals that could help them with various needs they have now, or potentially will have down the road.
As a service to our clients, I thought it would be helpful to create a database of various professionals that could be useful.
Every one of the businesses listed below have an owner or key employee who I personally know and can verify that they do really good work. They are all local companies who are based in Langley or Abbotsford or serve those areas regularly.
So, without further delay, here it is:
Grant Sauer – Sauer Notary https://sauernotary.ca/
Grant is a staple in the Langley community, who is heavily involved in the Rotary Club. He’s even done a term as the Rotary President, which puts on such amazing events as Ribfest!
A couple of years ago, Grant trekked up to Mt Everest!
Alistair Young. https://alistairyoung.com/
I’ve known Alistair for several years and he sold my home in 2023. A true professional who knows what he’s doing and will work hard for your good. When he’s not working, you may see Alistair hiking the Abby Grind with other people on this list.
Michael Shilton Personal Real Estate Corporation https://michaelshilton.com/
Michael is a ray of sunshine. This man brings such positivity and encouragement wherever he goes. You’ll know you just had an encounter with Michael because you feel better afterwards.
Jonathan Luiten – Valient Insurance https://www.valiant-insurance.com/
Jonathan can help you with a huge range of insurance products, from car insurance to travel and business liability. I have personally experienced his service when getting business insurance and it was unbelievably quick. On a side note, Jonathan is quite an accomplished poet and would love to be asked about that!
Cory Byron – Van City Electric https://www.vancityelectric.ca/
Cory’s company is very unique because they are willing and able to take on small jobs, as well as big projects. They offer a streamlined booking process. Cory is a wonderful man who can happily service the Fraser Valley. When not working, he’s probably on the golf course in the summer or at the golf simulator for his virtual golf league (yes, I’m not joking….my brother is in this league and says it’s amazing)
Geoff Lee – GLM Mortgages https://
Geoff’s team is very highly rated and he was the Broker of the year in 2022. On a personal level, I first met Geoff over a decade ago as he hosted a great fundraising event for a charity he founded called Imani Orphan Care Foundation https://imaniorphancare.com/ Once a year he put on and hosted a daddy/daughter dance that my 2 girls and I absolutely LOVED going to.
Chat Paton – Paton Plumbing Worx http://www.patonplumbingworx.ca/
Chad knows exactly what he is doing. Having over 20 yrs of experience in the industry, he’s a true pro who probably has seen the exact situation you are dealing with before. Chad has a heart of gold and is the kind of person you call when you’re in a bind, and will actually show up and give you a hand.
Brandon Jackson – Men In Kilts https://www.meninkilts.com/fraser-valley/abbotsford-bc/
Brandon cares a lot about doing a great job for his clients. The services he offers are fairly extensive and range from cleaning gutters, moss removal, home washing and beyond. I know Brandon personally and he’s a great neighbor to my sister and her family. If you need your house cleaned and want a good experience, connect with him!
Karen Jackson – Maidpro https://www.maidpro.com/abbotsford
If you need a 1 time clean or recurring work done, you want to get in touch with Karen. Her and her team will take great care of you. She is married to Brandon (see home detailing), so if you need the inside and outside of your home cleaned, you can have the same family do it all!

Stephen is my twin brother, and does really high quality work. He’s been in business nearly 20 yrs and takes a lot of pride in delivering great service and results!
Mark Shatford – Alderidge Construction https://www.alderidgeconstruction.com/
Mark is a really amazing man. I’ve known him for nearly a decade, and we first met at the daddy/daughter dances that Geoff Lee put on. For about 6 years, we both had our companies connected to the same charity call Food for the Hungry Mark and his business partner Eric have a fantastic team that produces very high quality work for their clients. They built a cabin for my brother and it is spectacular.
Dr. Rory and Ally – virtualhealthcollective.ca
I met Rory and Ally in 2024 when doing a quote for their move! Both are naturopathic doctors who really focus on taking care of the parents of young kids. It’s a time in life that is incredibly tiring and stressful. My wife has been a client of Ally and it’s been a good experience.
Dan Young – The Ball Joint – https://www.theballjoint.ca/
The Ball Joint does great work at affordable prices. The can get whatever you need done on your car in a clearly communicated timeline. Dan is a man of huge integrity. His yes means yes and his no, no. He goes to great lengths to problem solve for people and find solutions for them. He may be the tallest mechanic you’ve ever met, which was really helpful when we played together on a basketball team.
Ken E. – Mr Liquidator Mattress – https://mrliquidator.ca/
Ken’s a great dude and our families have been going to the same church for a while. He stands by what he does and really cares about helping people. Even if you don’t live in Chilliwack, it’s worth the drive to their store.
Juanita – Upstage Downsize – https://upstagedownsize.com/
